The L.C. Smith Collectors Association has had an exceptional, long-term working relationship with David Kennedy and the Cody Firearms Museum. He and his staff were a great hosts a few summers ago when I spent some time at Cody doing research for Houchins' book. Afterward, I contracted with Dave to complete the summarization of the production data by grade and gauge. This important information appears in the book and on the back of the L.C. Smith calendars. In addition, he volunteered his time to participate in the L.C. Smith exhibit at the 2007 Las Vegas Show.

Soon, L.C. Smith owners will have the option of requesting a research letter from two sources - the LCSCA or the Cody Firearms Museum. Each source will have specific advantages. However, the LCSCA does not have the staff to answer questions by telephone nor to contract to conduct additional research. The Cody Firearms Museum will continue to offer both services.

One of the objectives of the LCSCA is to support the Cody Firearms Museum in the utilization of the surviving L.C. Smith records. This objective remains unchanged. We look forward to continuing to work closely with the Cody Firearms Museum in seeking new knowledge about L.C. Smith shotguns.

Please do not hesitate to call (402/304-0015) or e-mail (jstubbendieck@gmail.com) if you have any questions.
