Ryan, Up until 1945 you could still get a Regular weight. Beginning in 1946 all guns were Featherweight (FW) frames. Easy way to tell is there is only one screw holding the side plates on a Regular frame. The lug on the barrel that protrudes through the receiver is also larger on a Regular frame. Starting in 1946 serial numbers started over and the prefix would be FW Sxxxxx.
