Maybe they sent their seconds to Canada. I thought about buying a 1947 12 gauge field that I looked at in Edmonton, Alberta that was in great shape, except for two things. A previous owner thought it was a good idea to engrave his social insurance number on the side plates, frame, barrels and forend, and the barrels had the most pronounced rivelling I have ever seen. The bores were smooth, but looking along the side of the barrels toward a light showed continous rolls of rivelling. Too bad. It had at least 95% colour and hardly looked like it had been shot.
