David: Thanks for your response. My 20 gauge is a 1949 gun marked 2 3/4 ". Seems like a lot of work to load 2 1/2" shells. My point is the chamber is a "short" 2 3/4". Using my chamber length gauge the 2 3/4" line disappears in a modern chamber but is just barely visable in the FW. If need be I'll go to 2 1/2" shells. Thanks, Richard
