    L C Smith model 2E Archived Message

I have acquired a L C Smith model 2E. The metalwork is in very good shape but the stock is a total writeoff. The wrist has been broken and patched with what looks like wood dough. It definitely needs to be replaced.

I also have a stock that appears that it will fit with some modifications. I purchased the stock with a receiver some time ago. The barrels had been destroyed. The gun that the stock came from was made in the same year 1906 and was less that 100 #'s away. What is the advice of a way to proceed. I can build a new stock but it will certainly not be authentic but then the replacement old stock will not be as issued. I appreciate your comments.
