I'm sorry to post multiple threads at once, but this one is an on going PITA. The gun is from 1890 and has NO indentifying marks other than the serial number and patent dates. No grade or quality marks whatsoever that I can find. Perhaps they've worn away but I find that hard to swallow since the serial number is as fresh looking as any on a new gun you'd find today! the "L.C. Smith" name is engraved into the locks not stamped if that's helpful. I may be wrong but I think this receiver is unusual in that it's more finely shaped than newer models. I took some pictures to show you if that helps as well. This is one of a few LC's I have and it's the only one that I can't ID and it's driving me up a wall. The closest I can guess is that it's a Quality A double gun without the "L.C. Smith maker of Baker guns" marking but that only goes up to 1888 and this is an 1890, so that's not possible right? I've also thought it was a Model "0" or "00" but again that came out in 1895 and 1898 respectively. So what the heck is it? Can you figure it out... Please help! Thanks. Sorry the pictures are a little blurry, my camera isn't that great!
