1926 # 2 LC in St. Louis Archived Message

Recently acquired a # 2 in near out of the box condition from a friend back in Syracuse. The SN says it was made in 1926 but on the receiver there are several dates: PA D Mar 29, looks like 88 plus there are two other dates; July 13, 86 and Oct 5,86. Double triggers, extractors, 30” Crown Steel (brown tint) #2 on the flat. Compared to my Specialty Grade this gun is a lot lighter. I shot some light 2 ¾, 7/8 load shells through it but had a time opening it. Switched to 2 ½ and still it was a challenge. Tried the rolled up 3x5 index card to ck the chambers, that told me nothing. Is it possible this gun was a made with 2” chambers? I was going to bring it to the Southern but unfortunately I’m not going to make it this year. Any help on this will be appreciated. I have not broken it down yet. Also, anyone out there with a good 2 ½ recipe.
