    In response to your concerns over photo negatives. Negatives were in general use as early as the 1850's, so a photo taken in the 1920 would have had a negative and could have had many copies made contemporary to the time. One can tell by handling the print if the copy was made then or later by the type of paper it is printed on. Silver nitrate photos tend to oxidize easily and show shiney areas,in the darker areas. That's one clue. Find a photography dealer in your area, rare photos I mean, and he'll be able to date your photo pretty reliably. I know nothing about Elsies except I love the one I have, but photography, ahh, that's another thing. Regards, Jim
