I'm from just across the river in Southern Illinois and I'll say that there were always a lot more Smith guns in my area than Parkers. I never saw a decent Parker till I was out of high school but I knew several old boys that shot Smith guns and loved them. My fathers goose hunting partner had a Smith two barrel set and I drooled over that gun more than once as a kid. I'd say the first "decent" double I ever saw was a Smith, belonged to a high school buddies grandfather. My family all shot 311 Stevens for the most part, we was poor folks. Destry
