    1909 LC Smith Archived Message

I inherited an LC Smith 12GA that by research on serial # was made in 1909. The barrels are marked London Steel Bar. My question is the use of steel shot and load capacity of todays modern shells in this almost 100 year old gun? I don't want to damage the barrels or have any "severe" failures of the barrels that were, I assume made for lead shot and lighter loads. Any insight and tips for further resaerch of the gun would also be great. Thanks in advance.
