I had purchased a double barrel shotgun. The make is L.C.Smith.I recently found online that some of these guns have some value.I found this site, and helped me found the year that it was manufactured,it seems that serial number S18*** is a 1947,i beleive this is correct. The other thing that i noticed on my shotgun is there's a diamond shape in the center of the cheak peice on the left hand of the stock. The diamond is made up of 5 peices of wood, diamond in the middle and 4 peices of wood around the border.Has anyone ever seen this, going thru this site, i didn't see anything like this,it looks like it was done from factory. The other thing that i don't know if it's original is the recoil pad, it shure seems to fit perfectly, but it's printed "sumner co. sporting goods", custom made by **ch*** ,made in usa. Can't make out ch word.If anyone has information on this shotgun and maybe value, please reply!
