Hammer 12...... not sure the year Archived Message

I have recently inherited my Grandfather's hammer 12 gauge. My dad recently passed away and I inherited his old LC Smith that I was able to finally date back to 1905. My Granfdather's gun (I thought was lost) was in a box, broken down in pieces. (It looks like all the pieces are there). Everything has matched up on the serial number, but I'm having trouble being sure what year it is.

The barrel has HUNTER ARMS CO MAKERS FULTON NY
    ROYAL STEEL
    SERIAL NUMBER 89679F

It is a hammer gun and I'm working to get the rust down on it, but would like to know the year before I take it to a "Smith" to work on it.
    It is a 12 with a 30 inch barrel.

Any and all help is appreciated.

I'm thinking it is a 1901 Field but am not sure. Since I have both of these guns now, I need to really get to know them better.

    Kevin
