Repairing my L.C. Smith Archived Message

Sometime ago I bought a L.C. Smith 12 gauge that had been converted to a trap gun in the 1940's or 50's. It has a add on raised rib and a raised comb that was some how stuck on to the original stock. The gun is solid and in very good working order.
Would this gun be worth the trouble and money to have it put back to original?
I cann't remember what grade the gun is or how to tell. The gun has a single trigger,30 inch barrels, some ingraveing on the recever and a splinter forarm.
