Sure it's not the caps? I use those aluminum ones now, as they more closely equate to the size of an actual shell. The red topped, clear caps (Italian - I think)are too big and brittle, and can make it slightly harder to open and close. How about trying a couple of empty shells and seeing what it does? Just a thought and good luck!
