Bill, Unless I overlooked it, the beads I saw in Brophy's book were brass 1/8" diam. and they were pressed in. Some of the fancier grades had ivory, and I have an Ideal Grade with a center ivory bead, about an 1/8". The front bead was a Raybar and I bought an ivory bead from NECG ( www.newenglandcustomgun.com ) They have two sizes 4mm (.157) and 5mm (.197) with a 6-48 thread.
