    Eagle Grade Archived Message

I was at a gun show in Allentown, Pa. last week where I came upon a beatuiful Eagle Grade for $6800. I was very tempted to get it, however I refrained when I notice a dent in the right barrel. At first glance I did not notice it, however, you can see it when looking through the barrel. It is approximately 5" from the breech. The dent does not look like the kind where the gun got dropped on a rock or something similiar, where the dent would be confinded to a small spot on the barrel. This dent appears like something heavy was sitting on the barrel and compressed it. The area of damage is +/-2" long. Please note, I am only speculting how the dent occured...maybe it was dropped.

The current owner does not know how the dent occured.
My question is, "Has anyone ever had a dented barrel fixed?
I have a Parker Trojon that had a small dent in the barrel that a gunsmith was able to fix but that was more like a small ding compared to the Eagle. What are Eagle's going for today? I would like to have an idea whether $6800 is a fair price for the gun, taking in consideration the obvious damage.

    Any information is greatly appreciated.
