We have discussed in the past taking on an assistant proofmaster. The hardware stores and sporting goods emporiums where we "obtain" our proofload ammunition are getting to where they know our faces pretty good. Thus it is becoming much more difficult to obtain the required cartridges. We might have to resort to actually paying for them as much as we hate to. If we had an assistant that they didn't know as good around the area it would be a big help in proofload acquisition. We would not be able to pay much, but could supply a half gallon of white mule a week if business was brisk.

Though as it stands right now, our facilities are too small for three men to work easily. I am on the large side and Gerald is no slouch either in the girth department. The shed i.e. Proof House is on the small side already and when we get full of that good old mountain dew it can get a lot smaller pretty fast.

We have had our eye on a gas station down the street that went out of business a few years back. It would give us a lot more space where we could offer various other gun related services and not just proofing. Gerald is expert at fixing cracked gunstocks with two ton epoxy (he shoots an LC Smith) and I am well versed at skinning possums and other fur bearing creatures for a buck a throw during the trapping season. The pits where they used to do oil changes would be perfect for setting up a still or doing indoor gun proofing if the weather is bad. We have also discussed the possibility of hiring some sporting ladies to fill in the slow times when gun proofing and possum skinning just aren't paying the bills.

If you would forward your application to me at the proof house address stated in my prior advertisment I will give you first chance should it come available. Please give all details that you feel would make you tops for this high profile position in the double gun community. The speed at which you can run should you be spotted in proofload acquisition would be paramount.
