Hello, after collecting military rifles for many years I have recently been bitten by the classic American double bug.Last week won an auction for a nice 1928 Field Grade LC and have now located a earlier hammer gun I am considering. Serial # is 1439xx,12 guage 30" barrels marked royal steel, it is complete and original shows signs of being well used, wood is sound, checkering is worn smooth. Metal is decent with about 50% original blue, the lever is at dead center or very slightly left, the right barrel has 2 small dents about 6" from muzzle. All in all it is a nice looking original shotgun that looks like it was carried a lot to put game on the table. Would this gun be safe to shoot with low pressure loads such as the Fedaral's that Midway sells? Asking price is 300.00 which seems resonable to me based on checking auction results. Any feedback is welcome. Also going to join the Collectors Association.I am in Maryland and it looks like some events are close to me.
