Norman, it sounds like a standard straight grip trigger guard. The serial number should be on the guard. If the gun was restocked or converted to a straight grip you might be able to detect a weld line where the guard was lenghthened. If you are going to spend a lot of money on an original gun you may want to send for a Cody letter first. Peter
