    Very interesting Ryan, and what a neat legacy. According to L.C. Smith "The Legend Lives" (available on the Home Page) Royal steel brls were not available until 1901. AND the 'H' was not found stamped on hammer gun receivers until the mid-1920s. Could you post an ultra close-up pic of the receiver, or e-mail by jpg attachment to revdoc2@cox.net and thanks!
    BTW: Hunter Arms made L.C. Smith guns from 1890 until 1945 (though not under the same ownership.)
