On the top of the barrel it says "L.C. SMITH MAKER OF BAKER GUN SYRACUSE N.Y. DAMASCUS STEEL" On the back of the forearm it says PAT'D June 1st 1880. After you take the barrel off, below the firing pin it says PAT'D Aug. 31, 1875 and Jany 29 1878. All the serial numbers match - 2853
