16 guage reassembly help Archived Message Posted by Rodney on December 18, 2007, 3:54 pm Hello I am new to the board as well as a new Smith owner. I recently pruchased a 16 guage Field grade at an auction and was cleaning it up and then went to put it back together and it will not go back. I have done this many times before but today it just will not go. It seems like the two little nipples (I have no idea what the correct name is so please forgive my ignorance) in the front of the reciever are hitting the forend peice not allowing it to be installed. It also will not cock when broke open now and I have no idea what is going on. Please help if you can.
