Get a new stock made for him as a gift. Stop worrying over what he's shooting in the gun. Hope that you've got enough seasons left together for him to bust the new stock up just as badly as the old one. My grandfather is 90 years old and still shoots a bit. Everytime I see him put shells in his old double Stevens I consider it a gift. If the gun has lasted this long, it's got a few more bangs left in it, I'll bet your Dad does too. Give the old gentleman my regards. *wink* Destry P.S. I've put so many heavy duck loads through my infamous Parker DHE that the stock busted on it late last winter. Dr. Bill did a fix for me, the duck loads continue. They're all old guns and if you use them hard they're going to break occasionally. It's the sin of not using them that's paramount, the sin of causing some wear and tear can be forgiven. Pray for us poor sinnners.
