John, I don't need a lot, about a 1/4" at the most would probably do it. I was hoping that because it is a fairly new piece of wood that the risk of cracking would be less. It was restocked about 2 years ago. Its got nice wood on it and I can shoot it the way it is but if I had my druthers it would be a bit higher.
Thanks too for the suggestions on some local gunsmiths. I thought there were some in this area who could do it but couldn't recall any names. I'll get in touch with them and see what they have to say. i appreciate the help
