    12 gauge LC. Archived Message

I am interested in picking the brains of you LC experts. I just got my first LC and I am curious if any of you think it is a rare gun or not. When I look on this home page it talks about the grades of guns and gives the serial numbers for years of guns. From what I can tell the gun is a 1899 gun and appears to be all original. No auto ejectors. It is a 12 gage, and all the numbers match on the gun when taken apart. It is a #2 grade according to what i see and what is stamped on the barrels. Serial is #102132. It has Crown Steel barrels on it. The one thing i notice is that it has the engraving of a grouse in a circle on one side, but on the other it has a woodcock in a circle on it. Not a duck as it said it should. I will try to include some pictures of it. Gun is in excellent shape and appears to have not been redone. It does however have a odd butt plate on it, that i don't believe to be original. I love the gun and i am planning on handing it down to my boys someday. I have some pictures to post but can not figure out how. Can anybody help? thanks for any help.
