Considering purchase and restoration Archived Message

I am considering purchasing an LC Smith Hammer 12. The serial number is 50469. I found it while perusing a local Pawn shop. It is restorable condition. The forearm number does not match and I think the latch is busted for the forarm. It had paperstuffed in it to keep it on. The stock has a crack, on the left side near the sideplate. The barrels have some pitting but I am not an expert by any stretch of the imagination. The shop wants $650.00, somehow he thought it was worth $1200.00 but has "marked it down".

The reason I want the gun is that it would be exactly like my Great Great Grandfather's gun that my uncle now has. I would want to restore it for a little lite squirrel and dove action.

My question, is it possible to get this gun up and shooting?

    Is it a fair price?

I have questions about getting new barrels and stocks...
