Seems like a lot of the double gun friendly non-toxic cartridges are going by the wayside. Bismuth is out of business, Kent has raised their prices on TM so high that they won't make it much longer because nobody will buy it, and even Federal is dropping their tungsten polymer loaded shells from the line.

Once the current stocks of these run out I don't know where we vintage style fowlers will turn. I've got about 800 of my favorite Kent loading in 12 gauge and about 350 in mixed Federal and bismuth for the 10 gauge but once that's gone I guess I'll have to go back to a modern type gun unless another shell comes along that's priced reasonable.

I chase the waterfowl pretty hard. Two seasons will see me out of 12 gauge and running mighty low on 10 gauge. Maybe sooner if I hunt as much as I'd like.

I looked into starting to load my own using the new NiceShot but it's killer expensive. I picked up $150 worth for a friend in England and I couldn't believe the tiny bags that money bought.

Morris at RST is working up some loads using it but I can't imagine that they're going to be cheap. But they will be good at least, anything those boys put out is top notch.

I'm curious to see how this new Hevi-Shot cartridge is going to be priced. What I've seen of Hevi-Shot on the pattern board, it throws very very tight even out of open bore guns. Not much use for the close decoy type shooting that I do. Maybe this new stuff will be different.
