Robert S., There is so much wood in the reciever end of the stock, as throughout the entire stock, that bedding need not be done. No need for the single barrel gun. Remember, these guns were specifically designed for heavy use, and will endure. I use in my guns, standard trap loads, 2 3/4 inch cases, 1 oz or 1 1/8 of shot, and 2 3/4 dram equivalent powder charge. The 1 oz loads are Winchester AA Xtra light and the 1 1/8 loads are Winchester AA Light (though other manufacturers are all about the same). I have, in earlier life, used any of the standard loads up to 1250 feet per second, which I believe is pretty standard and, maybe the ATA maximum allowed. I found that the light loads were most comfortable.
