Mike, I wondered about that bottle myself; but have no idea as to its purpose or affiliation. L.C. Smith, as an industrialist, was into many businesses; so I am convinced the bottle is connected in some fashion to one of his business endeavors. I have wondered if it could have been an oil or cleaner/solvent bottle associated with the Smith typewriter company? At any rate, there must be some bottle colletor/s out there who know what it represents; and further, these bottles must not be very common. Hopefully someone into bottles will share some knowledge/history/significance of this artifact.
