    Jim, during this period of time the hunter arms co. was busy building 40mm olerkon{sp} barrels for the navy. I am sure that the factory had parkerising tanks set up to mill spec the barrels for uncle Sam. So it would stand to reason that the powers to be at the factory were in all likely hood looking for ways to augment the contracts that the feds pulled at the wars end leading to the death of hunter arms and bankruptcy sale to Marlin.
    I will start looking in my copy's of American Rifleman magazines this week to see if there are any mention of Hunter arms offering this service!
