    Ron, it can be confusing to find out what year you have. It is either a 1902 or a 1929. The "R" would mean Regular Frame, that is it would have only one screw holding the sidelocks on.
    In the case of your gun, you didn't state what guage. The dates above are for a 12 ga. in 1902, and in 1929 it would include all guages made.
    On the receiver's water table is there stamped a "00" or "0" indicating a pre-1913 gun where numbers were used. After 1913 names were used, Field Grade, Ideal Grade, etc. If yours has a number it is likely a 1902. Also on some of the earlier guns the pistol grip is rounded with no plastic cap.
    If you still are having trouble it might be a good idea to post a few close-up pictures of receiver, water table of barrels, stock.
