Who are the best people to value this type of gun? Archived Message

My father in law is the grandson of the last owner of Hunter Arms. When my husband was a child the family had several of the guns at home which were kept unloaded in the attic and the kids used to play with them.

As a result my father in law has now passed one of the guns on down to my husband and we were wondering who the best people were to give us a valuation on the gun.

It is an L C Smith Field Grade 12 Gauge Double Barrel Shot Gun manufactured of course at Hunter Arms.

It has never been fired and was until about a month ago still in the factory wrapping. The wrapping was disintegrating with age so we unwrapped it and re-wrapped it in new paper.

There are a couple of small scratches on the end of the butt from the kids playing with it but other than that it is in mint condition.

If anyone has any suggestions it would be much appreciated.

    Cheers
    Jennene
