    Dan,

Sorry I have been under the weather...as to your post I went through some issues with an Eagle Grade I got a letter on. One must remember that these ledger books are not in great shape. The staff at Cody have to make their "best" judgement in ascertaining what exactly is written in the ledger.

Reading the hand writing alone is a challenge, let alone the condtion of the paper, the faded lead pencil markings, and last but not least...mistakes were made at the factory in recording exactly what was done.

As to me needing 3 different letters for my Eagle to get it right is correct in that certain info was left out of each letter. I found the lack of info interesting and made a call, Jessica, who works her butt off up there, found the mistake and fixed it, and while doing the next letter noticed another item had been missed, so another letter was sent out.

Sounds to me like your gun's number is the same as or very similiar to a single barrel trap gun, or perhaps another simple mistake. My suggestion would be to call and simply ask Jessica or Connie, whomever answers your call, to go through the ledger with you over the phone so they can read off what they see, and you can then match it up with your letter. Inquire about the possibility of another gun with the same number? They request that the info you recieve does not match the guns configuration, to call them and they will double check. Start there and please keep us posted as to the results. Also keep in mind you can request a copy of the ledger your serial number appears in IF you purchased a letter. Then with a quality copy...you can see first hand the facts in front of you as it was written by the employee back in the day, pretty cool if you ask me! Best of luck...
