Gentlemen, I have in hand a L C Smith Ideal grade that has a beavertail forend. According to its hang tags and a Cody Firearms Research letter this gun did not leave the factory on April 5, 1933 with a beavertail forend. My question is: Is the present beavertail retrofitted work performed by HUNTER ARMS CO? I have pictures of this shotgun in my computer but will need technical help getting the photos on this forum. I am a new member of the LCSCA and this is my first L C Smith shotgun. I would like to start out on the right foot with this purchase. I still have the right to return this gun if I choose. Your help will be greatly appreciated. I know your comments will be based on opinions but experienced opinions is what I need. Thanks!
