    Grandmother's 12 ga. Archived Message

I have a 1910 field grade hammer 12 ga., inherited from my grandmother. Although the exterior looks fine, the interior of the stock has deteriorated and no longer holds the lock mechanism in proper alignment. As a result it dry fired and broke a firing pin. The screw holes in the forepiece no longer hold the screws well either. When I was younger I enjoyed shooting it. Can this gun be restored to shootable condition? Should it be?
