The existence of a 14 gauge L.C. Smith was uncovered less than two years ago by David Kennedy in our data summary project of the Cody Firearms records for the new L.C. Smith book. The location of the OE grade with 30 inch barrels(serial number 3643)remains unknown. It was shipped on August 28, 1899 to Simmons Hardware executive S.W. Read.
If someone could locate it, it would be a great find.
