I have been reading on different sites about storing guns with the barrels down. I don't know how many of you clean your guns, but I only use a little Rem oil or mostly a silicone cloth to wipe them down after being cleaned. On guns that I purchase I usually take a good look and make sure that there is not the tell-tale evidence of oil that has leaked around the sideplates or out the bottom of the trigger housing. So my answer is they are stored stock down, the way they are supposed to be. As for the ages of mine 60-112 years old, there is no problem of oil migrating to the wood.
