Here's one for all you woodcock gunners to prove that I'm not just a duck shooter. Nice bag of European Woodcock from a driven shoot in England I was on a couple years ago. That one on the left with the bright white belly is a snipe.
Notice how big they are compared to those hen pheasants hanging on the right. They're about double the size of our woodcock.
I had three shots that day and managed to connect on two, missing my first bird due to nerves. I had one driven in the afternoon and one flighted right at dusk. I think we had 14 woodcock, 2 snipe, and three pheasants amongst 16 guns so everybody had chances. It was one of the greatest days I ever spent in the field.
