It is fairly common for LC Smith barrels to be a few eighths of an inch longer than the nominal length. I have a 1912 0-grade 20 gauge with 26 1/4" barrels, and a Cody letter that says it was made as a 26". In a discussion of this subject last year, there were a number of resposes from people who had similar "odd" barrel lengths. Contrary to what some might think, such an odd length does not mean the barrel has been cut.
