Gentlemen,I have a couple Smith's that, I believe, would do well to have this proceedure done. There is some deteriation around the lock plates. Not extreme but noticable and some very small wood loss in those areas.
Both are well used guns but seem to be mechanically sound and function quite well.
Although I am familiar with the 'bedding' process and have done same on rifles in the past, I have never tackled a SxS.
I would prefer to have this done or at least looked at by someone with more experience with Smith's, and this process, than myself. I live in the greater St. Louis, MO area.
Can anyone provide contact information for a suitable individule/gunsmith in reasonable driving distance (no more than one state away)?
Or should I just go for it?
