LC Smith 12 gauge Late 1800's Archived Message

I have an LC Smith 12 gauge that belonged to my great grandfather. I would like to find out the date (or at least year) of manufacture and get an idea of the guns value. Not that I am looking to sell it, I am just curious.

    Here is a description:
Double barrel hammer 12 guage with shell ejectors
Breach opens with a lever on top and just behind the breach
LC Smith is stamped on both sides (lock plate)
On the flat portion of the receiver is stamped:
    75835
    F
The above numbers and letter are also stamped on a flat surface on the bottom of the barrels.

Also on the flat portion of the receiver is stamped:
    PATD MAR 29,83

On the top of the left barrel is stamped HUNTER ARMS CO. MAKERS. FULTON, NY

Various starches on the stock make the gun look well used, but it is in good condition. All moving parts work. I think the last time the gun was fires was back in 1968 when I went hunting with my Dad. There are two screw holes on the back of the stock where it appears a butt plate was at one time attached.

Judging from what I have found on this site, the gun was manufactured between 1884 and 1888. The marking of “F” is the grade with the numbers above being the serial number.

Anything else someone can tell me about this gun would be greatly appreciated. I am getting ready to build a display case for it. I would like to include in this display an engraved plate with details about the gun.
