Smith and shotgun collectors in general will appreciate the Smith display, the Petersen display of Parker Invincibles and other high grades, the Rudy Etchen display (large) of competition guns and artifacts from Etchen's career, many other individual rare and high grade shotguns scattered about the many rooms in the museum. All donors are identified on computer screen displays placed throughout the museum. Interested visitors enter the display number and item number and a detailed description of the item and name of the donor is displayed. I found that many items in the museum are on loan from friends and shooting buddies who are also serious collectors. One of the neater displays is a "1950s boy's room" full of outdoor and shooting related artifacts from our younger days. The Teddy Roosevelt Room is a great attraction with Roosevelt guns including a wonderful Owen rifle among others. A couple of Townsend Whelen rifles are also on display. The NRA museum is a must visit when in the D.C. area. Cafeteria on site if you get caught there during lunchtime. Public shooting range on premisis at $12.00 per hour. About five minutes from the Chantilly Gun Show, also known as The Nations Gun Show.
