    Turkey Loads Archived Message

I've shot several Turkey with the load Markethunter talks about, in fact, he gave them to me and they drop the old bird dead in his tracks. However, this past fall I used some Kent #6, 1 1/2 oz loads. Called Kent and they told me the pressure was just under 8000 psi. Dropped three Tom's at 30 yds. this spring I'll use up the shells from Markethunter and then go to all Kent ammo in the LC's and Parkers. Did harvest nice Tom's with an L.C., a Parker and a Model 21 this past fall using all Kent ammo. One important thing is to get the bird in close, at least inside 30 yds, better yet 20 yds. when using these aging guns. Absolutely nothing worse that to only injure a nice Tom and not take him to bag. This is a game of self discipline and patience. I'm aggrevated by the "sportsmen" taking these 50 yd shots with some of the modern day cannons. Can hardly wait 'til april 1
