Charlie , Marlin reintroduced the L C Smith Trademark in 1968. The guns produced by Marlin had a Serial # Prefix of FWM and were made through 1971. There were NO 20 gauge guns produced during this period. The gun in question ,if it is a 20ga is more than likely one of the new Italian made guns marketed my Marlin and is in No way shape, or form an L C Smith. For what they are asking for this gun you can buy an original in shooter condition in a 12ga. The Blue book on the Italian gun is $1725 NIB. You be the guide here, The REAL thing or ?
