Thanks for the info. I forgot to mention that on the receiver the marks (PATD JULY 13-86)and right below that is (PATD OCT.5-86) the top tang is also made in two pieces where the safety is. I measured the muzzle end with a micrometer and as accurately as I can tell it measured at .720 . I have a set of 12 Ga chokes made by briley for a Browning an the choke that measured that same .720 is marked cylinder. With the (C) marks on my barrel I am going to assume that 1)My micrometer may not be measuring exact and 2) that the (c) marks that are on the barrel may refer to that type of choke restriction (cylinder). Is this possible? Does anyone know if this type of barrel configuration (28 inch with cylinder/cylinder or skeet/skeet) was very common in 1904?
