Jennifer, if you or your husband "break open" the gun and look and see if there are numbers on the flat part of the receiver (water tables). If an L.C. Smith might have "R" or "FW" and then five or six numbers. Most L.C. Smiths have that name on the top of one barrel, and Hunter Arms Co. Fulton, N.Y. on the other barrel.
