It looks better from a distance. Some previous owner had/or did a refinish on the metal that is substandard. Most of what you see in that picture has worn off through use. It's a late 1940's 20 gauge 26" Field Grade originally choked M/F. I've had the first barrel opened up to skeet choke so now it's SK/F. I never have had much need for a second shot on grouse on they're normally long gone before you can shoot again anyway. I did manage an unbelievably lucky true double on grouse on a particularly great day back in 1999 when the cycle was up. Luckily I had two witnesses to the event although one of them still couldn't believe what he had seen until he had both of the birds in hand.
