    The Smith/Baker guns are fairly common. Stub twist would indicate the probability of a field gun as it was the least expensive of the damascus-type tubes.

    Whether you decide to restore the gun to firing condition is a personal matter, though I expect the reason the pins are missing is that a previous owner decided to make the gun inert.

    As to the pins, I guess that you might get lucky if you look long enough. Probably the best option, though, is to have a new set machined. Not a huge job for a smith.

    Obviously a black powder gun. Take great care not to overburden the old girl with higher pressures than she can safely handle.
