Chris, there is LOT's of Hx. about L.C. Smith guns and The Hunter Arms Co. that controlled them until purchased by Marlin. Unfortunately it would take many pages-far more than my poor typing skill could accommodate. Suggest you start with Lt. Col. Brophy's seminal book, "L.C. Smith Shotguns" and then move on to John Houchins new one. With the Internet, papers as I had to do them in undergraduate Ecology seminar should be a snap. No more 3x5 file cards, no more outlines, no more typing on a manual typewriter, no more carbon copies, etc. Good luck, hopefully one of you bright young lads will "solve" the problem of the disappearing Bobwhite quail.
