W.F. Your grandfathers gun with the serial number you gave is from 1924. The "R" means Regular frame and the "E" means it has ejectors. The "S" means Specialty Grade. You didn't specify what else it has. Your grandfather was at the time a skeet champion, did he have a single selective trigger, ventilated rib on it, Monte Carlo stock, etc. All of these things would bring more money. If you are able to post pictures, please do so, and someone can help you out as to exactly what you have, and possibly give you a ball park figure. Without seeing the gun in person and looking at it, it would be near impossible to give you a price. If you post pictures, or if you can get your hands on The Blue Book of Gun Values 26th Edition, or maybe now the 27th edition, you will be able to compare the condition of your gun to some pictures in there and it will explain the % condition and that value in dollars.
